I was first introduced to media when I enrolled in the Marketing Management program at BCIT. We learned all about marketing, PR, research and creative design. However it was the media strategy components that had me saying “I need to be a Media Buyer.”
Over my past year at Think Mint Media, I have come to see firsthand how different media strategies are used to meet a variety of campaign objectives, and to apply these learnings to my everyday work. I analyze online metrics, execute Facebook and Instagram ads, and now know more about pixels than I ever thought I would.
I have also discovered that there is an incredible social side to the advertising world, which creates a unique bond within the industry. Since joining the TMM team, “Bubbly Fridays,” puppy playdates, and milestone birthday bashes are now a part of my work norm. Plus, the many industry events are the perfect opportunity to put a face to the people on the other side of the email.
I look back on my first year in media knowing that I have found a career I am passionate about, at an agency I can grow with. I raise a glass of bubbles in honour of my first anniversary and know this is the beginning of a great relationship. Cheers!
