Fresh Faces is a rapid-fire questionnaire series dedicated to showcasing some of our favourite faces in the industry. Up next is our VP, Media Director, Brandi Bailey.

Starting with some industry basics…

Career highlight?

Getting promoted to Media Director at age 30.  I started young, just prior to my 19th birthday, and Joyce gave me lots of opportunity to grow and take on responsibility over the course of the next 10 years. I’ve loved leading our team and helping to drive our business into the digital media age.

Presentation style?

Open, straight forward and interactive. I like to invite questions and provide opportunities for discussion.  Our media plans include a lot of research, and I aim to make that research interesting and relatable. I’m a huge fan of PowerPoint, especially since we got our sparkling new Think Mint templates!


Most embarrassing ABCOM moment?

I was lucky enough to win a television two years ago, which was fantastic! The only challenge was getting it home from downtown…at 11pm after about 12 hours of ABCOM celebrations. I had my red heels in one hand and was dragging the bulky TV box in the other hand, while trying to flag down a taxi during the busy Christmas party season. Not my most graceful moment!

Now let’s get personal…

What’s your drink order?

Gin Caesar, heavy on the tabasco and lime. Secret ingredient? Horseradish. Favourite garnish? Pickles.

Favourite movie?

This is a tough one as I love movies and have many favourites from different genres.  My all-round favourite is Love Actually for the humour, story line and loveable characters. Bill Nighy as Billy Mack is a legend. Fav artsy movie? The Red Violin.  Fav chick flick? The Holiday.

Night owl or morning person?

I used to very much be a night owl, and would find my energy peak from 9pm onwards. My small children have changed me and now I’m up every day at 5:15am and am in bed by 10:30pm. Although 5:15 am sounds crazy, I like my new schedule, as I can have a coffee and watch the news before the kids get up.
